The exceptional timepieces presented on the occasion of the WATCH ARTTM Grand Exhibition - Milan 2026 also give pride of place to the Rare Handcrafts carefully preserved by Patek Philippe – much to the delight of Italian connoisseurs. The Manufacture is unveiling a rich collection of 25 creations (6 Dome clocks, 1 table clock, 4 pocket watches and 14 wristwatches), each combining technical virtuosity with artistic creativity. These unique pieces and limited editions showcase the principal skills and techniques associated with the decoration of timepieces for nearly five centuries: hand-engraving, hand-guilloching, gemsetting and various ancestral forms of enameling – Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, miniature painting on enamel, paillonné enamel, flinqué enamel and grisaille enamel. These are joined by a more recent technique that is innovative in watchmaking: wood marquetry. Patek Philippe also demonstrates the full extent of its artisanal mastery in numerous pieces featuring so-called “mixed techniques”, combining, for example, cloisonné enamel with hand-engraving.
These unique pieces and limited editions, reserved exclusively for the Italian market, are organized around four themes: the regions and cities of Italy, traditional Italian craftsmanship, Italian painting, and, finally, Italian arts and crafts.
Theme 1: The Regions and Cities of Italy (17 pieces)
This theme is divided into five subthemes: Italy by Road, Cities & City Maps, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast and Sicily.
“Voyage on four wheels in the Cinquecento” – 4 wristwatches
On the theme of “Italy by Road”, four Calatrava wristwatches with dials in cloisonné enamel enriched with miniature painting on enamel pay tribute to the finest regions of Italy, as discovered in the iconic Cinquecento. Four limited editions of six watches each, in white or rose gold, bring the Italian dolce vita travels to life. Each decoration is outlined in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel filled with transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels. The miniature painting on enamel does full justice to the splendor of each region through which the famous little car passes. The bezels are adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern, Dauphine-type hands in white or rose gold indicate the time, while the alligator leather straps take up the color palette of the dial.

Its floral composition draws inspiration from a 17th century table conserved in Florence. The enameller faithfully reproduces the effect of stone marquetry, introducing small deft markings that suggest the minerals’ natural inclusions. The bezel is set with 168 diamonds and the alligator leather strap in shiny turquoise green takes up the color palette of the dial.
Ref. 20180M-001 “Ravenna” is a Dome table clock in cloisonné and paillonné enamel enriched with miniature painting on enamel. The hour circle in white mother-of-pearl is adorned with 12 baguette-cut hour markers in dark orange sapphire and leaf-shaped hands embellished with rhodium plating. Its center presents a sunburst motif shining through coats of translucent blue enamel.
Theme 3: Italian Painting – A pocket watch
Ref. 995/151G-001 “Dante” is a pocket watch in cloisonné enamel with miniature painting on enamel, gold powder and hand-engraving. The enameller achieved this realistic recreation of his portrait using transparent and opaque enamels with miniature painting on enamel. The poet’s silhouette stands out on a deep blue background studded with stars worked in gold powder, in an architectural perspective framed by drawings of Botticelli inspired by the “Divine Comedy”. Several layers of flux, a transparent enamel, protect the decoration and intensify its colors according to the “fondant” Geneva method. This pocket watch is delivered with a stand in white gold embellished with segments of rutilated quartz and set on a base of lapis pyrite.
Theme 4: Arts and Crafts – Sculpture, Lace and Architectural Decoration
Three wristwatches and one pocket watch
Ref. 5738/50G-039 “Crouching Lion” is a Golden Ellipse wristwatch with a dial in grisaille enamel au blanc de Limoges. This limited edition of six wristwatches represents the “Crouching Lion”, a sculpture by Pasquale Ricca created in 1866 and installed on Piazza dei Martiri. Here, however, it is depicted on Piazza del Plebiscito, in front of the grand colonnade of the San Francesco di Paola Basilica in Naples. To recreate this setting, the highly complex technique of grisaille enamel au blanc de Limoges was used. The enameller required particular mastery of his art to render the volumes of the monument, the crackles in the stone and the effects of light and shadow.
References 5077/100R-069 “Lacework in Pink” and 5077/100G-080 “Lacework in Blue” are two Calatrava wristwatches with dials in champlevé enamel, paillonné enamel, and hand-engraved sapphire crystal. These two limited editions of six watches each pay tribute to the technical virtuosity of the Burano lacemakers, which contributes to this Venetian island’s worldwide fame. The engraver began by lightly hammering the floral lacework motif into some of the petals. The enameller coated this decor with translucent champlevé enameling. To illuminate the petals, he embedded silver leaf beneath translucent paillonné enameling. Last, the design received several final coats of transparent enamel and the work was refined with hand-engraving. The first, 5077/100R-069, in rose gold, represents embroidered flowers with light pink petals. It is equipped with Dauphine-type hands in rose gold and a calfskin leather strap in chocolate brown with a satin finish. The second, 5077/100G-080, in white gold, depicts light blue petals. The case back was adorned with hand-executed guilloché work presenting a sunburst motif, destined to remain visible beneath translucent green enamel, with flinqué enameling. The engraver then adorned the enameled back with an applied ornament modeled to reproduce, with stunning realism, the roundness and volumes of the stucco volutes and shells that adorn historic Italian residences. The bow was shaped and fashioned by hand to harmonize with the decorations on the case back. The dial, with its coating of opaque white enamel, recalls the color of the plaster used to mold stucco ornaments.
