Perrelet enriches its “Weekend” collection with a new model featuring an eye-catching aventurine dial

The Weekend collection is one of the pillars of Perrelet's classic line, which has been well received since its first appearance in 2017 and offered in many variations over the years.

Watches with a timeless appeal and a refined, sober, minimalist look. Superbly crafted in the finest Swiss watchmaking tradition, they are reliable and equipped with a state-of-the-art mechanical self-winding mechanism. They are contemporary in their many interpretations, with dials that give each version its own identity, sometimes using more conventional colours such as silver, black and blue, but also venture into more modern and brighter tones such as ice blue, salmon or green mint.

These, in a nutshell, are the main characteristics of this line of dress watches created by the Bienne-based Maison.

For 2025, Perrelet is extending this range with the Weekend Aventurine. As its name suggests, aventurine is the undisputed star of this new creation.

This is the first time that Perrelet has used this semi-precious stone for the dial, giving a unique and unmistakable character to this latest addition in the Weekend collection.

With its deep blue hue and silver accents, this material polarises the gaze and endows this time-only model with preciousness and elegance, perfect for those with a taste for understated luxury.

The sophistication of an essential design

Making a timepiece with an essential style attractive is not so obvious. Every detail must be carefully selected: materials, proportions, combinations, finish. An entire mix that must be absolutely harmonious and perfect in order to achieve excellence!

The Weekend Aventurine is a magnificent example of this approach!

The case, guardian of aesthetic and mechanical beauty

Soft, sinuous lines define the round case, whose polished/satin finish is enhanced by the dynamic interplay of light reflections on the stainless steel. It measures 9.56 mm thick and 39 mm in diameter. A size that achieves the perfect balance to classify the Weekend models in the category defined as "unisex".

Water-resistant to 5 atm, the screwed case-back has a glass porthole that offers a fascinating glimpse into its beating heart, and the eye is pleasantly captivated by the oscillations of its balance-wheel, the dance of its oscillating weight and its fine finishes.

A midnight-blue calfskin strap with alligator pattern and customised steel pin buckle fastens the Weekend Aventurine to the wrist.

The dial's enchanting magic

Following on from the various colours that have personalised the displays decorated with sunray motif in the Weekend proposals, this latest edition introduces a brand-new material: blue aventurine.

What is aventurine? Aventurine is a semi-precious stone that belongs to the family of quartzes and has tiny inclusions of mica that reflect the light and give it its characteristic sparkling appearance.  When the tiny specks present are made up of muscovite, a mineral also known as aluminium mica, there are silvery reflections, as is the case with the aventurine that was chosen for the "face" of the Weekend Aventurine. Its hardness, ranging from 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, makes it particularly durable and suitable for use in jewellery and watchmaking.

Throughout history, gemstones have also been used for their metaphysical and therapeutic properties. Blue Aventurine is no exception. In fact, it is believed to induce calm and reduce anxiety and stress, making it a stone that exudes positive vibes!

The Weekend Aventurine's dial, which displays the hours, minutes and date - a precious element in itself, given the material used - has sober silver-plated baton hour-markers that double up at 6 and 12 o'clock, and unprecedented dauphine-style hands.

The blue aventurine becomes the unmistakable signature of this new model of understated luxury, translucent and fascinating, almost poetic in its effect, evoking the magic of a starry night sky.

The in-house manufacture calibre

Weekend Aventurine is equipped with an automatic manufacture movement, exclusively developed by SOPROD, a sister company owned by Miguel Rodriguez to which the Festina Group and the Perrelet brand also belong.

This time-and-date creation is powered by the in-house Perrelet calibre P-321, which operates at a frequency of 4 Hz /28,800 vibrations per hour and guarantees 42-hour power reserve when fully wound.

The screwed case back is fitted with a transparent porthole allowing a view of the movement's impeccable finishing, including the circular-graining bridges and the refined solid oscillating mass mounted on ball-bearings and decorated with the brand’s logo which stands out against a background of engraved sun rays.
