Watch collectors are no strangers to contradictions. While most praise a return to quiet luxury, that discreet and refined luxury, the trending metal is neither steel nor platinum, but... gold. And particularly its shimmering variations, red gold or, at Breguet, the in-house alloy, Breguet gold. These versions all cultivate a rather demonstrative vision of luxury.
The new Villeret from Blancpain reflects this deviation in its own way. With flexibility and precision. For example, by favoring two sizes: the larger at 40 mm, the smaller at 33.2 mm. One might be tempted to read this as a separation between a men’s and a women’s version. This is not the case: the 40 mm models are perfectly unisex. The same goes for the brand’s emblematic complication, the moon phase, which graces both versions with equal elegance.
A new Moon for the Villeret
A Great Family
The late 2025 lineup of the new Villeret will influence the entire year of 2026. It includes 16 references. That’s a lot, but understandable when divided into three groups based on complications.
The first group is the simplest: three hands and date. It comes in only one size, 40 mm. However, the piece is available in two dial colors and two materials (red gold or steel). The total is therefore four references.
The second group simply adds a moon phase. The principle is the same as before: one size (40 mm), and again two variations of dials and materials, resulting in four different references.
The third group finally adds a complete calendar (day & date). Again, only one size (33.2 mm), two dials and materials, so still four references, but doubled with an option for a diamond-set bezel. The total is therefore raised to 8 references.
What’s new?
Everything for the wearer
The new Villeret places the collector at the center of its attention. For them, the international warranty has been extended to 5 years, demonstrating Blancpain’s confidence in its movements. For comfort, the manufacture continues its policy of tool-free interchangeable straps. The new Villeret collection offers a choice of grey-blue, honey, or brown leather. Finally, the movements are secured: they allow calendar adjustments regardless of the time, day, or date, without damaging the caliber. The correctors on the 40 mm model are also located under the lugs. The system, patented in 2005, allows them to be operated with a simple press of the finger, without tools. Lastly, each movement features a silicon balance spring. The new Villeret models are therefore more precise, more reliable, and better protected against surrounding magnetic fields and temperature variations than standard movements.
