Vacheron Power-house Watch of the Summer

Going overseas just became even more appealing thanks to two new models in the Overseas collection by Vacheron Constantin.

The two new self-winding Overseas models– one in pink gold and one in stainless steel – both 34.5 mm – are something that is very rare: No-nonsense power house watches with a feminine touch. No stones, no mop, no frou frou. Just top notch mechanical haute horlogerie for daily use.

If the gold version is a calm statement in a hue reminiscent of a sunrise, the steel version is more of an exclamation mark which proofs that deep-red and purple dials are here to stay. Today the integrated bracelet trend is stronger than ever, and if you want to shift to another look you can change to the accompanying rubber or leather straps without tools.

Despite the diminutive size, these watches have all the design codes of the Overseas collection which was first launched   back in 1996:

- Metallic bracelet and the bezel inspired by the Maltese cross, which has been part of VMcheron Constantin’s design language since 1880.

- The tonneau case

- Sword-shaped hands and,  excellent readability. also and after the sun sets, when the white gold markers and hands are aglow thanks to SuperLuminova®

Despite the clear link to 1970s when integrated metal bracelets first appeared on for instance Vacheon Constantin 222,  thies piece does not feel nostalgic: like Christian Selmoni, Vacheron Constantin’s style and heritage director put it: “this evolution reflects continuity –  a natural bridge between heritage and modernity”
