Eberhard & Co. unveils at the Geneva Salon what will represent the Maison’s most significant novelties for 2026: two new creations within its historic collections, Scafograf and Tazio Nuvolari.

These models reaffirm the brand’s ability to evolve while remaining faithful to its heritage, blending innovation with the foundational pieces of each line. The new timepieces draw inspiration from the Scafograf 100 of 1959, the Maison’s first diver, and the first Tazio Nuvolari chronograph introduced in 1992, created in tribute to the legendary racing driver.

Both novelties share a compact case, meticulous attention to detail, and the choice of black among the available colour options. A further evocative and symbolic element of connection is the triangle, featured in the indices and in the tip of the hand of the new Scafograf 200 MCMLIX – a direct reference to the 1959 model – and in the structure guiding the Clous de Paris pattern on the dial of the new Tazio Nuvolari, composed of a three-dimensional weave of micro-pyramids.

This shape, which also forms the point of an arrow, takes on a strong emblematic value: the base represents history, roots and tradition, while the tip points towards the future, direction and evolution. A form that unites continuity and progress, past and future, becoming the hallmark of an identity that remains true to itself while constantly renewing over time.

SCAFOGRAF 200 MCMLIX

Inspired by the original 1959 model, the new Scafograf retains its professional diving vocation within a compact 39 mm case, enhanced by a dial with strong visual impact. The triangular indices and the pointed tip of the hour hand – itself composed of three triangles – have remained distinctive elements of the collection since its very beginning: born from precise functional requirements, they ensure immediate legibility even in low-visibility conditions and allow for optimal application of luminescent material. Technical features that, over time, have also acquired aesthetic value, combining with particularly refined finishes while never compromising the watch’s professional character, as evidenced by the presence of the automatic helium escape valve, essential for deep diving.

The underwater heritage of the Scafograf runs deep in the history of the collection, dating back to 1959 when, as the story goes, Maurice Eberhard would take his young nephew to the shores of Lake Neuchâtel to personally test the resilience of the first Scafograf 100—immersing it in the water himself before submitting it to the official trials that would certify its performance.

The watch is available in four versions: black dial with silver-toned minute track featuring circular satin finishing and black ceramic bezel; black dégradé dial, also paired with a black bezel; blue dial with silver-toned minute track featuring circular satin finishing and blue ceramic bezel; and blue dégradé dial, combined with a blue bezel.

The choice of blue and black tones—available in both the dégradé and monochromatic version—enhances two timeless, versatile colours, interpreted with particular care and paired with meticulously crafted details.

A further reference to the watch’s vintage spirit is the new polished steel Milanese mesh bracelet. A novelty for the Maison, this solution—widely used between the 1950s and 1970s as an elegant alternative to traditional sports bracelets—combines refined aesthetics with exceptional wearing comfort, thanks to the lightness and flexibility of the mesh. Once again, Eberhard & Co. has paid close attention to its execution, personalising it with the 2CLICK® clasp and ensuring continuity of the weave even across the adjustable links.

TAZIO NUVOLARI

The Tazio Nuvolari collection is renewed with the introduction of a chronograph featuring a 40 mm case and a dial embellished with Clous de Paris decoration, a three-dimensional texture of pyramid-shaped reliefs that lends depth and dynamism to the surface.

A legendary figure in motorsport, Tazio Nuvolari (1892–1953), though distant in time, remains a vivid and contemporary presence for Eberhard & Co. Celebrating him, since the collection’s launch in 1992, is not an exercise in nostalgia. For the Maison, Nuvolari is not an abstract figure, but the embodiment of human talent, courage, challenge and self-transcendence. A lover of the impossible, Nuvolari was far from a conventional champion: he combined audacity and determination with masterful control of the vehicles he drove to victory, alongside a magnetic and charismatic personality and a strong sense of style.

The Maison has always celebrated the complete universe of the driver, made up also of symbols, rituals and unforgettable details, such as the yellow sweater he raced in and his lucky talisman, inspired by Gabriele D’Annunzio’s famous gift, a small gold tortoise engraved with the dedication: “To the fastest man, the slowest animal.”

This model introduces for the first time on the dial, enclosed within the tortoise emblem, the yellow “TN” symbol, which Nuvolari himself used on his racing attire and personal objects, including his camera. Yellow, which despite certain traditional superstitions Nuvolari considered a lucky colour, is also echoed in the central chronograph seconds hand.

The black dial ensures continuity with the history of the collection, while the new interpretation featuring Clous de Paris finishing—more often associated with elegant timepieces—engages in a dynamic dialogue with the sporty spirit of the chronograph. References to the world of vintage motorsport are found in various details: the bezel with “perlage” finishing and miles-per-hour scale, the large counters, and the caseback, featuring gold engravings in reference 31175 and a sapphire vitré caseback in the Gold Car Collection version (ref. 31176), revealing a finely finished movement with gold accents and the oscillating weight bears a reproduction in 18 K gold of Tazio Nuvolari on the Alfa Romeo Type C.

Two dial versions are available: black, or black with hour and minute counters in delicate white with azuré finishing. Both dial variants are offered in the closed case-back version (ref. 31175) and in the Gold Car Collection version with vitré caseback (ref. 31176).

“For Eberhard & Co., inspiration always comes from Eberhard & Co. itself: this year’s novelties are the result of a profound exploration of the Maison’s archives, both tangible and intangible. On the one hand, we sought new aesthetic elements that could evoke the founding models of the collections; on the other, we worked in the spirit of coherence, continuity and respect for the identity of these enduring and deeply meaningful collections. It is often said that the future is born from afar: in this case, it is particularly true.”
Barbara Monti, CEO Eberhard & Co.
“In a complex market environment, we chose to focus on two strongly identity-driven novelties, characterised by compact diameters and by the evolution of historic Eberhard & Co. collections: Scafograf, symbol of our bond with the sea since 1959, and Tazio Nuvolari, emblem of the Maison’s unique connection with the world of motorsport, embodied by a legendary, fascinating and unconventional figure.”
