From the production site in Prévessin-Moëns just outside Geneva – where component development, material selection, machining and finishing take place – to the watchmaking workshop and the brand’s Geneva showrooms, one of MMA’s most prominent figures enjoyed a chance to explore a discipline bearing a striking resemblance to his own from the inside. “I wanted to understand what goes into a watch”, he says. “In Geneva, I realized just how much discipline and precision it takes to create something at this level. It reminded me of fighting: the audience sees the final moment, but the real work happens beforehand.”
“With Arman, we didn’t want to create just another ambassador’s edition”, explains CVSTOS Geneva’s founder and CEO Sassoun Sirmakes. “Right from the start, the intention was to immerse him in the world of CVSTOS: our workshop, our showrooms, our production sites, our creative process. He quickly understood that watchmaking isn’t just about aesthetics, but about discipline, precision and character.” The partnership is by no means improbable, as since its founding in 2005, CVSTOS has consistently cultivated a neo-avant-garde approach to watchmaking distinguished by three key signature features: a tonneau-shaped case, skeletonized movements and technical materials. As for Arman Tsarukyan, his life outside of MMA – notably including his travels and his pronounced taste for beautiful objects – are on full display to millions of followers. The ARMAN EDITION doesn’t just merely tell the athlete’s story, but that of the man for whom luxury and style are expressed through the details.
This deep dive led to a co-creation in the truest sense of the term. Working alongside the two founders, the sportsman helped shape the stylistic direction, reviewed 3D concepts and contributed to defining the final character of his timepiece. “Arman came into the design process with a very clear idea of what he likes”, says brand co-founder and design director Antonio Terranova. “While he is of course an athlete, he also has a very distinct lifestyle identity. He understands presence, contrast, materials and the importance of details, so the creative dialog unfolded very naturally.”
For the first time in its 20-year history, CVSTOS has opted to clothe its tonneau-shaped case in white ceramic, warmly accented by 5N rose gold components: an aesthetic direction dubbed “Golden Hour.” The sapphire crystal reveals the entirely skeletonized design of in-house Caliber CVS410, along with rose gold details on the dial and movement, a small seconds subdial framed by a gold ring at 6 o’clock and Arman’s signature on the flange. This distinctive look is complemented by a white strap made of nitrile and technical Cordura. Issued in a 100-piece limited series, the ARMAN EDITION stems from a dialog between a neo-avant-garde brand and an athlete whose world revolves around precision, pressure and presence.
