The Laax Open 2024 marked Eileen’s first slopestyle competition since the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. While Eileen has not competed in a slopestyle competition since Beijing, she has won four out of four halfpipe competitions in the last 18 months - most of them in dominant fashion.
On the slopes, Eileen wore the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe” (Ref. IW389105) powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre. The 44.5-millimetre case is made from hard and scratch-resistant white ceramic and fitted with a white rubber strap. The sleek design is completed with a pitch-black dial, black hands with white Super-LumiNova®, and a stainless-steel crown, pushers, and case back ring.
The IWC Lake Tahoe Edition holds a special place in Eileen’s heart: The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe” was the watch Eileen Gu wore for her first IWC photoshoot after she was made a brand ambassador for the Schaffhausen-based watch manufacturer in 2021. The design is inspired by the wintry landscape around the freshwater Lake Tahoe, where Eileen first skied as a little girl. In November 2023, Eileen Gu and IWC Schaffhausen teamed up to donate Eileen’s Lake Tahoe Edition at the Laureus Chairty Night auction in Zurich, Switzerland.
