Press release

"Why buy a frame from a one-man shop still using traditional hand building methods?" Those are the words that first greet a visitor to the Richard Sachs frame building website. But they could just as easily apply to the way the RGM Watch Company builds watches. For the last 5 years RGM has been a proud sponsor of the Richard Sachs cyclocross race team and Richard's ideal of what a hand built product should be.
RGM and Richard Sachs have the very same business ideals at their core - provide a quality, hand built, custom product in a world filled with inferior, machine-made products. Cleary the partnership has been a success. When Richard builds a bicycle, he not only builds frames that will last decades to come but that also reflect the quality and skill of its maker. He custom tailors each bicycle to its buyer, making sure that it fits and performs in the best way possible.

The same process is used at RGM when designing and building watches. Each series of watches is produced in limited numbers to allow the same dedication to go into every timepiece. Each watch is still decorated and assembled using the traditional methods that the founding fathers of watchmaking used and proved through decades of perfecting. Some of these include Perlage, Anglage, and hand polishing screws and bridges.
Can't quite find something in the RGM line that fits your personality or needs? Our custom department can design a completely new watch so that it performs in the exact fashion you need it to. Being a small company, you can work directly with the designer and be involved with each step of the design process - from the functions on the watch to the dial and case design.
Not only do RGM watches look great, but they can perform in the harshest of conditions. Battle tested in the trenches of cyclocross races all over the country, RGM's Model 254 North Pointer has proved itself on the wrist of Richard himself in race after race. Cyclocross is a unique discipline that not only pits the racers against each other but against the elements as well - mud, sand, and driving rain are not uncommon. These are the harshest operating conditions for any mechanical device and the 254 has performed flawlessly without missing a beat.
To commemorate this special relationship, RGM has produced a special edition Richard Sachs Model 254 North Pointer. Limited to only 20 pieces, of which only 8 are still available, the special edition includes many subtle details. The dial bears the Richard Sachs logo. The case back is dominated by the large Richard Sachs logo, limited edition number, and the Richard Sachs name. Another thoughtful detail is the utilitarian rubber strap - color matched to the red of Richard's bikes.
