At the Bench with Benoit de Clerck : Reviving Zenith’s Legendary Calibre 135

Join us for a behind-the-scenes journey into the heart of haute horlogerie, where tradition meets innovation.

In this episode of "At the Bench With...", Yannick visits the ZENITH manufacture in Le Locle to meet CEO Benoit de Clerck for a hands-on challenge: adjusting the legendary Calibre 135. Originally a 1950s precision movement, this iconic calibre—winner of 235 chronometry prizes—is reborn in a modern limited edition.

Together, they fine-tune the vintage movement while exploring its legacy and its comeback in the George Favre-Jacot watch, launched at Watches & Wonders 2025. Only 160 pieces were made, celebrating ZENITH's 160th anniversary with symbolic details—like engraved brick patterns from the historic factory.

From magnetism issues to expert watchmaking insights, Benoit and Yannick dive deep into the art of precision. Beyond Calibre 135, ZENITH hints at future revivals like the 0G and chain-fusée movements, proving the brand’s heritage is alive and ticking.

Watch lovers, this is your chance to witness horological history—at the bench.
