Inside the workshops of the Breguet Manufacture, Gregory Kissling describes the six new Tradition models as the next logical chapter in the evolution of one of the brand’s defining collections. The Tradition journey began in 2005, and with the Reference 7035, introduced in 2025, it celebrated Breguet’s 250th anniversary. Produced as a limited edition, this watch marked a significant milestone, becoming the first Tradition model to feature Breguet numerals while establishing a new aesthetic dialogue between guilloché decoration and enamel craftsmanship.
That creative direction is carried forward in the 2026 releases, where traditional métiers d’art play a central role. Among the highlights are two models featuring a sophisticated fumé effect that gradually shifts from green to black, echoing the dark coatings applied to their movements.
Beyond their visual appeal, the new references remain deeply connected to the legacy of Abraham-Louis Breguet. Their architecture draws inspiration from the watchmaker’s subscription watches and incorporates several of his most influential inventions, including the Breguet balance spring, the pare-chute shock-protection system. These historic innovations are reinterpreted through contemporary technologies and materials such as silicon and platinum.
Two decades after its introduction, the Tradition collection continues to embody a compelling balance between heritage and innovation. Rooted in history yet unmistakably contemporary in its design language, it remains, in Gregory Kissling’s words, a “legacy in motion” — one that appears increasingly destined to become a lasting icon within the Breguet universe.
