The large golden Moon displays its eight phases over a 29.5-day cycle: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, and waning crescent. This highly precise animation requires an accurate mechanism, provided by the Cvstos CVS882, which vibrates at 28,800 alternations per hour (4 Hz).

The sapphire caseback allows a view of some components of the mechanism, assembled in the brand’s workshops, including the tungsten-alloy oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève.
