Elegance and precision come together in this brand-new Serenade Luna collection from Glashütte Original

Glashütte Original is enhancing its feminine offering this week with a brand-new collection entitled the Serenade Luna. No stranger to women’s watchmaking, the Saxon watch manufacture already has three collections dedicated to women with the PanoMatic Luna, Lady Serenade, and Pavonia, offering a range of different styles for women who love the combination of elegance and mechanical watchmaking.

This new Serenade Luna has been completely imagined and created from scratch, both in terms of its design and its movement. It is powered by the Caliber 35-14, a new in-house automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve, which has been specifically designed for this collection and meticulously decorated so that it can be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.

A Modern Take on the Moon

On the dial side, the first thing the eye is drawn towards is the collection’s stunning contemporary moon phase at six o’clock. Displayed in a large circular opening, the moon comes in a white mother-of-pearl and is set against a starry midnight-blue sky. The round moon sits within a second circle featuring a crescent moon filled with stars, adding to the unique design of this complication. Moon phases often end up serving more of a decorative purpose than anything else, with watch owners neglecting to set them correctly, but the Serenade Luna moon is one that owners are going to want to keep set thanks to its beautiful prominence on the dial.

Four New Introductory Models

There are four versions presented for the launch, all of which have their very own personality. In terms of size, they all come in 32.50 mm cases with a height of 8.9 mm and are water resistant to 30 metres. The first two are housed in stainless steel cases with white mother-of-pearl dials and applied diamond hour markers. One features diamonds on the bezel and includes a rose-cut diamond in the crown, while the second comes with a non-set bezel and a moonstone cabochon crown.

The third version is also in stainless steel, but is adorned with a dark blue dial with a sunray finish, enhancing the night sky aesthetic. And last, but by no means least, the fourth version is housed in an 18-carat rose gold case that is paired with a golden green dial. This version is also studded with diamonds on the bezel and comes with a rose-cut diamond in the crown. All the timepieces are paired with matching coloured alligator straps that are fitted with the brand’s easy-change strap system. For the stainless steel models, there is also the possibility of a stainless steel bracelet.

Day-to-Day Elegance and Precision

This new collection follows the latest trend for smaller watches while respecting the brand’s love for finely crafted mechanical movements. The number of watch brands offering automatic movements this small is still relatively limited. So, for women who love precision, reliability, and elegance, this is a collection that ticks all the boxes with its large choice of materials, colours, and diamond settings.
