The hand-wound watch will be auctioned off on behalf of Make-A-Wish Switzerland, a foundation which has committed itself to the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children.
The Sirius Lion Heart watch is based on a dial made of solid white gold that was hand-engraved. Using a cloisonné enamel technique, the motif is applied in numerous individual sections with fine gold wire bent by hand. Modeled after the Lucerne landmark that is located near the house of Chronoswiss, the exclusive one-of-a-kind piece shows a majestic lion with a Swiss flag. The individual sections are colorfully enameled in several layers and passes so that they change as the light plays across them and the king of wildlife gleams in sumptuous colors.
Through the sapphire crystal of caseback one can see a filigree skeletonized mechanism with floral details, deep in the heart of the watch. This was skeletonized by hand and then likewise elaborately decorated by hand on an historic rose engine.
The auction will take place on Sunday, November 9, from 10h00 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Geneva.
The precious watch will be exhibited on the preview tour stopping at Singapore (Oct. 29), Dubai (Nov. 1–2) and Geneva (Nov. 6–9).
