I was born in a family where music was ever present ; growing up not a day would go by without having some sort of exposure to music. My grandfather was playing traditional Spanish guitar and my dad also played guitar. I would watch my grandfather play for hours, fascinated by the expression in his eyes. It was clear to me that music was a way to disconnect from the world around and just… be.
For a while I was indecisive of weather I wanted to play classic guitar or drums. Until I came across an album that changed my life : Pink Floyd’s The Wall. The songs, the movie, its message, everything related to it were to me the ultimate music experience and inspired me to pursue my studies in percussion.
Since the playing drums have been my very personal way to express myself. For a while I joined a band and tried to play in different venues, but most of the times we were kicked out since we were too loud.
My life took a beautiful turn when my wife announced to me she was expecting a baby. Throughout the pregnancy I was putting headphones on her belly and hoping our baby will music love s much as I do.
Now I love to play for my daughter. She loves the beats and I love watching her dance. I hope she doesn’t grow up too fast. I’m afraid one day she will kick me out of the house for being too loud.
