Appointed official watchmaker to the Naval Ministry in 1835, L.Leroy held this prestigious title (until it disappeared) for longer than any other company in this field. Supplying more than thirty royal, imperial and national navies, as well as many merchant and military fleets around the world, the company produced more than 2,200 chronometers of all types dedicated to precision time keeping at sea before the introduction of radio-controlled and computer clocks.
The deck chronometers come in a 4N18 pink or 18 carat white gold case. A sapphire crystal complete the 43mm case, on its top and back.
The dial, engine-turned by hand, is available in a large range of colours. Depending on the version, the hands are either in blued steel or plated gold.
The timepieces house the L511 movement, beating at the frequency of 28’800 vibrations per hour and offering more than 42 hours of power reserve. The variable inertia balance features gold regulating screws; the central rotor is also made of 22 carat gold.
A strap in genuine alligator, with hand stitching, elegantly completes the watch.
All Marine deck-watches chronometers are individually numbered - on the case and dial - and are delivered with their individual and official chronometer certificate delivered by the National Observatory of Besançon.
