Mouawad Grande Ellipse Alarm
Few watches offer the highly useful function of an alarm. The Mouawad Grande Ellipse Alarm is one of them.
It's quite a feat to incoroporate a usable alarm mechanism inside the relatively small confines of a wristwatch, which is perhaps why so few brands offer this complication. The latest versions of Mouawad's Grande Ellipse collection feature this handy mechanism in a red-gold case with a choice of black or silvered dials and a gold bracelet or leather strap.
The alarm function is not the only distinguishing feature of the Grande Ellipse alarm watches, however, since the case shape that gives this collection its name is also very distinctive with its ovoid form and its unusual prominent screws that serve to attach the bracelet.
The alarm function takes a discreet place on an inner circle on the dial, where a small red dot indicates the alarm time that has been set. The alarm time can be set to the nearest minute using the rotating crown at 4 o'clock. The red dot indicates the hour, while the larger luminous arrow-head indicates the minutes. A separate crown at 2 o'clock can be used to switch the alarm on or off.
The new Mouawad Grande Ellipse Alarm models are powered by a Swiss Made self-winding movement with a personalised red-gold oscillating mass visible through the watch's transparent sapphire crystal case back.
A passion for watchmaking has been passed down through the Mouawad family for several generations. This attachment is now rooted in the Franches-Montagnes district, where the family business still has its workshops. There, it designs timepieces based on the values the company has upheld for over a century: artistic excellence and impeccable manufacturing.Find out more >
