The Saxony-based Manufacture A. Lange & Söhne, primarily reputed for its Grand Complication models, is one of the most prestigious Fine Watchmaking brands. The Saxonia Thin, an apparently simple-looking two-hand model, is distinguished by the slenderness of its 5.9mm thick case, and by its ultra-thin movement measuring just 2.9mm thick. It is to date the slimmest watch ever produced by the German firm. Presented in 2011, the Saxonia Thin was reintroduced at the SIHH 2016 with two new features. In terms of design, the dial has been subtly reworked to match the current look of the Saxonnia watch line. Solid gold baton-type hourmarkers, slightly longer than the previous versions, are placed extremely close to the bezel, thereby accentuating the glow of the solid silver dial. Moreover, having been previously available in a 40mm diameter only, the Saxonia Thin now also comes in a 37mm-diameter version that will suit women as well as appealing to enlightened connoisseurs.
