In reissuing its regulator, Alpina brings back the one model that made it climb the slopes of contemporary watchmaking. A perfect opportunity to focus on the Alpiner range.

What do the Alps stand for ? This monument of nature is a haven of tradition, an enticement to climb and to outdo oneself, and an environment that demands one adapt and evolve around it. Looking at the issue along those lines reveals Alpina's real alpine nature, and the Alpiner collection's even more so.

spirit of the Alps

When it comes to tradition, no need for 7-foot skis and wooden ice axes. Alpina elected to reconnect with one of their oldest models, which is really the one that paved the way for them. In the early 00's, they produced one of the first regulators of the modern age. Separating the hours, minutes and seconds in three entirely distinct areas linked it to ancient floor regulators. They were in charge of clearly showing everyone the time it was in large maufacturing areas or laboratories. The new Alpiner Regulator Automatic enhances that separation with the help of textures, namely a linear-grooved dial and circular-grooved subdials,

Adaptation and evolution are to be found in the multiple hybrid and connected Alpina watches on offer. As a subsidiary of Frederique Constant, Alpina has access to MMT, a technology subsidiary in charge of developping interactive and activity modules. The Alpiner X is therefore at the crossroads of traditional watchmaking, a certain idea of modernity and the tools requied to venture up there.

As for climbing and outdoing oneself, this side of Alpina is the very nature of the Alpiner collection. Choosing to integrate it with the mountains, by means of marketing but also the products' specifications, makes this major collection a litteral explanation of the brand's name.
