Casting New Light On Night-Time - Baume & Mercier
When date and moon phases come together.

With its new Clifton Baumatic, Baume & Mercier continues to interpret this collection in style by mingling style and technology. The in-house Baumatic BM14 caliber, beating at the heart of this new creation at a frequency of 28,800 vib/h, features bridges with a circular-grained finish along with a sandblasted and snailed mainplate. The bidirectional-winding oscillating weight, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback, is openworked and adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif. All this is housed in a case crafted in 18K pink gold to highlight the gradient gray-lacquered dial.

Casting New Light On Night-Time

In addition to the collection’s characteristically generous five-day (120-hour) power reserve, this new 2020 model has another noteworthy feature : a new small complication with a unique face, since the dial of this creation displays moon phases at 6 o’clock. Delicately topped by a smoky gray sapphire crystal, this indication is rimmed by numerals showing the date. Closely linked to the moon, the date thus becomes one with it and, together, they cast time in a new light… or rather cast new light on night-time.
