Blancpain is celebrating 70 years of its famous dive watch and ten years of collaboration with the Gombessa project by revealing a world premiere: the Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa.
The first model in the new line dedicated to technical diving, this timepiece helps professional divers with a closed-circuit rebreather (which removes carbon dioxide from exhaled air and adds fresh oxygen to the breathing mixture) to monitor long dives, unlike conventional dive watches.
Featuring a graduated bezel at 3 o’clock and a hand sweeping the dial in the same amount of time, the Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa enables safe dives lasting several hours and is therefore the ideal partner for reaching new depths.
The Editorial team was impressed by the readability of the watch in deep waters, thanks to its absolute black dial that absorbs nearly 97% of the light.
