Focus on the Classique Calendrier 7337

While the fashion was baroque when the Maison was founded in Paris in 1775, Abraham-Louis Breguet decided to buck the trend by creating avant-garde watchmaking in neoclassical style, highlighted by various decorative techniques. Among them was guilloché work, a manual engraving technique. that constitutes one of Breguet’s signature elements along with the tourbillon. The Classique Calendrier 7337 that is making a comeback this year is no exception to the aesthetic codes that have been present since the brand’s foundations. Its dial – or rather dials – are hand-engraved on a rose engine with the Clous de Paris hobnail pattern for the offcenter dial and a barleycorn motif for the outer dial. Since the difference between good and best lies in the details, Breguet has also adorned the movement with guilloché work, along with chamfered finishes and the Côtes de Genève motif. To enhance viewing pleasure, these decorations are visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
