Octo Finissimo Skeleton Titanium - Bulgari

Ultra-thin and ultra-elegant, this new variation of the Octo Finissimo Skeleton is also ultra-light thanks to titanium.

Skeleton-working associates the artist’s talents with the watchmaker’s technical skill. Literally causing light to stream through the ‘engine’ of a watch requires an ability to grasp its strengths and weaknesses, calling for an obsession with creating an overall work of balance and beauty. For Bulgari, no technical project ever comes to fruition if it is not matched by a powerful aesthetic dimension. This constant principle generates a dynamic that enables Bulgari to offer contemporary watches exuding an elegance entirely in touch with the times.

A multitude of small details are expressed through the meticulous craftsmanship exercised by the watchmakers and artisans of the Manufacture Bulgari. The intricate mechanical lacework has been treated with an understated elegance designed to accentuate the coherent, homogenous nature of the model. To highlight its contemporary personality, the surfaces of the mainplate and bridges have been chamfered and adorned with a circular decorative motif. The finely skeleton-worked hands are also rhodium-plated.  Providing a distinctly on-trend touch, the 40 mm-diameter case is made of titanium - a guarantee of pleasing lightness - as well as the winding-crown, which is set with a ceramic insert, providing a jewellery-like detail in terms of craftsmanship and a modern touch with regards to its design. The transparent case-back and the sapphire crystal enable light to flood through this watch that is water-resistant to 30 metres.

Each component of the mechanical hand-wound Calibre BVL 128SK has been meticulously chased, hollowed out and reduced to essentials. Beating at 28,800 vph, this in-house movement displays the hours, minutes and small seconds, along with the power-reserve indication (65h). At just 2.35 mm thick, it is one of the thinnest in the world.

Bulgari is a past master in the particular domain and currently holds three world records: the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon (launched in 2014) is the thinnest of its kind in the world; the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater (2016) is the slimmest minute repeater watch on the market, and the Octo Finissimo Automatic (2017) the thinnest ultra-thin self-winding watch powered by a platinum micro-rotor.
