The sixth annual ‘works on paper’ exhibition in Lugano promises a wealth of content and opportunities

This now definitive appointment with the world of art-on-paper returns to Lugano this year in its traditional format, following the unavoidable hiatus in 2020 that prompted the organisers to hold a virtual exhibition instead to avoid disappointing fans of this fascinating sector of the arts.

WOPART is an eagerly-awaited event, having acquired enormous esteem among art enthusiasts by attracting excellent exhibitors who know how to present the best from the big names alongside some highly-promising newcomers.

Visitors are well aware of this and flock from all over the world, creating a vibrant atmosphere and considerable revenues - the essential elements for success with this type of exhibition.

Maison Eberhard & Co. and Mersmann Watches are veterans of Wopart, having sponsored the event from its beginnings as part of a wider involvement in the promotion of artistic and cultural events. And once again at this upcoming event, dedicated to the memory of the mayor, Marco Borradoni, you can expect to see the Eberhard & Co/Mersmann VIP lounge - an exclusive space where you can enjoy a relaxing break surrounded by a delightful selection of artistic and watchmaking masterpieces. The works selected to grace the lounge this year are by Franco Guerzoni, an artist from Modena whose display recounts an anthology (and a poem) of everyday life analysed from an archeological perspective, in which observers will not fail to notice a parallel with the ancient and fascinating technique of fresco. The objective of fascination also extends to the watchmaking section of the exhibition, which focuses entirely on Eberhard & Co’s most symbolic timepiece - the Chrono 4, the new 21-42 version of which has been developed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its creation.

The Chrono 4 21-42 is the latest chapter in a story dedicated to watchmaking, a story that started in 1887 with the spirit of research and innovation which has survived intact to this day. The well-balanced case, the elegant dials and the patented movement - the only chronograph with four counters in a line - make it an absolute standard-bearer in the high-end chronograph market. Mersmann watches on Via Nassa in Lugano will be one of the the first outlets for the Chrono 4 21-42, an exclusive collection available only through a small circle of international boutiques of the highest professional standards.

The appointment with the world of art-on-paper and watchmaking is at the Centro Esposizioni in Lugano, from the 19th to the 21st of November.
