Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges Bucherer BLUE

The Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges has always been presented for what it appears to be: an architectural creation. The shape, the volume, the indentation and the arc of the three bridges forming its structure are all part of the world of engineering structures. Bridges, viaducts, footbridges and other monumental constructions use the same aesthetic vocabulary. The fact that Girard-Perregaux is part of the Bucherer BLUE limited series only increases the impression of looking at a model of a bridge fused with an Haute Horlogerie mechanism. Girard-Perregaux’s three-bridge movement is the medium for a multitude of interpretations, and the one Bucherer has chosen is the most modern, as well as the most graphic. True to its concept, the most striking element of its structure has been dyed blue. The three bridges – one for the barrel, the second for the gear train and the third for the tourbillon – are made of titanium that has been blue-treated using the Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) process. The clear water passing underneath them would then be symbolically reflected on their surface.
