Located at the heart of Lisbon, the Museum of the Medeiros e Almeida Foundation houses the wonderful art collections António de Medeiros e Almeida (1895-1986) gathered with great enthusiasm and passion over a long and busy life. Among first class furniture, paintings, Chinese porcelain, tapestries or sacred art, special mention should be made to the collection of over 600 clocks and watches including names such as Thomas Tompion, Breguet, Edward East or John Monkhouse.

The watch on which we will focus here is a pocket gold-cased watch ordered by General Junot from Breguet et Fils in 1807. It has two dials: one in gold and one in platinum. The gold dial has Roman numerals, typical Breguet steel hands ending in a hoop and two subsidiary dials, one on the left for the seconds and a semicircular one on the right showing how much winding is still left...
