Perfectly timed to coincide with the warm summer days, IWC is expanding its range of vibrant rubber straps for the Portugieser Chronograph (ref. 3716). Customers can put together various combines of housing materials and straps to create their personal version of the iconic Chronograph on their very own wrist and conjure up different looks.
A mechanical watch is much more than just a timepiece: it also emphasises its owner’s lifestyle, values and preferences. As a result, IWC has continuously expanded the customization options on offer – for instance, with a wide range of straps as accessories to enhance a watch’s versatility.
For the upcoming summer, IWC is introducing eight new coloured rubber straps for the IWC Portugieser Chronograph (ref. 3716): olive, green, brown, blue, violet, burgundy, black, and white. The reference is available in eleven different versions, be they in 18 carat red gold or stainless steel. In turn, this enables customers to put together various combinations of housing materials, unique dial colours and straps to create their personal version of the iconic Chronograph on their wrist.
With its durable, vibrant rubber strap, this sporty Chronograph is the perfect timepiece for the beach or anywhere else the summer takes you.
IWC rubber straps: colourful and waterproof
Rubber is a versatile material. It is durable, flexible and absolutely water-resistant, while also being outstandingly comfortable to wear and offering a perfect fit during physical activities. These rubber straps are available in three sizes – XS, standard and XL – and in eight striking colours. Every shade adds something different to the wearer’s entire outfit: they can switch between something elegant and discreet or something summery and vibrant, depending on how they feel.
IWC Portugieser Chronograph
The models in the Portugieser collection from IWC Schaffhausen have enjoyed iconic status among watch lovers for many years. When the Portugieser Chrono-Rattrapante (reference 3712) was unveiled, its slogan was “a watch unlike any that’s existed before, at any time”. A fitting statement: this marked the first time a Portugieser and a Chronograph were paired in the same case – so it was inevitable that the result would be just as exceptional.
The functional design of the Portugieser was inspired by nautical deck watches, which helped sailors to steer their ship safely. The Portugieser Chronograph evokes this heritage courtesy of its clear, easy-toread dial. At the same time, the striking subdial and flange with printed quarter-second scale on this timelessly elegant watch add a sporty touch. This classic design is now powered by the IWC-manufactured calibre 69355, visible through the transparent sapphire- glass back.
The design of this IWC Portugieser watch has remained near-unchanged since it was launched. This makes it a timeless, classic accessory for anyone who appreciates traditional, understated watch design.
