Esperanza Classic

Esperanza Classic - Kerbedanz
This jewellery watch borrows its name from the Spanish language as well as the lascivious languors of its deep blue.

Anchored on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, at the crossroads of Swiss watchmaking terroirs, the ultimate watch brand Kerbedanz combines its unique creations or its ultralimited series with the delicious times of universal symbolisms. Its existential maxim? "Symbols & Legends".The brand loves cultural allusions that incline to the introduction in its timepieces of subliminal messages with plural resonances. Especially when these are full of poetry.

And the new Esperanza Classic is no exception. The Hope from which this wristwatch takes its name is declined in a fantastic narration of Greek mythology: the gods sent to men the first human form of woman, Pandora. Naturally curious, this creature could not resist the temptation to open the lid of the jar where all the evils of humanity were held. The lastthese then escaped to submerge humanity. Frightened by her act, Pandora closed the lid just in time, preventing Hope (Eperanza) from escaping at the last moment.

Kerbedanz Esperanza Classic is a limited edition of 68 units. Its 42 mm case is in 18-carat yellow solid gold and it is entirely set with 9.69 carat blue sapphires, while the wristband fasteners are each overlaid by a 0.37 carat diamond row. Despite its caratage and gem-setting, the timepiece is guaranteed waterproof to 5 atmospheres (50 meters deep). Like almost all Kerbedanz timepieces, the crown is located asymmetrically between the 1:00 and 2:00 positions.

The dial was exclusively designed, manufactured and hand decorated by Kerbedanz and its matrix is in solid gold. A guillochage expert has designed a luminous decor that Kerbedanz glazing covers. The brand’s emblem is displayed at 12 o'clock and the subtly openwork hands are in gold. The other time positions are each represented by a 0.08 diamond.

Indicating the hours and minutes, the calibre KRB-03, a mechanical self-winding motor by oscillating rotor, was designed, manufactured and decorated by Kerbedanz. It provides the comfort of 120 hours of power reserve, or one week in working days, and its frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz).

For the Esperanza Classic, Kerbedanz chose a blue satin strap to match the sapphires. The wristband has an 18-carat solid yellow gold clasp, the special design of which belongs exclusively to Kerbedanz.

With this Esperanza Classic, and after the "Tree of Life", Kerbedanz’s now mythical model entirely dedicated to the emerald and the entanglements of branches symbolized by gold threads, the brand claims the jewellery parts of its peculiar identity, which has the effect of somewhat blurring the cards. Indeed, isn't it also, with Maximus on its wrist, its largest tourbillon on the world cage diameter side, synonymous with ultra chronometry, micromechanical science and belonging to the very closed circle of the great master watchmakers overcoming the legendary complications?
