Embodying a fascinating temporal paradox, between an oxidized case and a movement released from traditional limits, the Sequential Two S220 Bronze redefines the codes of retro-futurist horology. Bronze has been mastered by humankind for 5,000 years and flaunts a wealth of assets. Anti-magnetic and resistant to wear, deformation as well as corrosion by water, it is extremely robust. To endow the colossal 44.6 mm case of the Sequential Two S220 Bronze with its its distinctive patina, MCT has developed a dedicated process serving to stabilize the oxidation of bronze. This innovative technique consists in soaking the case for several minutes in a metal oxide solution 90% diluted in water heated to 35°C, before immediately rinsing it in hard water. In order to stop oxidation in its tracks, the MCT artisans then apply a top layer of liquid silicon oxide (SiOX) that is air-dried for 24 hours so as to ‘freeze’ the sought-after patina in time.
The movement is all about postmodernism. The sequential display of the hours is provided by four rotating modules each comprising five prisms, while the minutes are indicated by a hand on an outer disc.
