A Life Well Seasoned
The first week of September started with an editorial that made us want a nice hot chocolate! That’s right, autumn is here. Those lovely days sunbathing on the shores of Lake Geneva are now behind us, so wrap up warm and enjoy all the watch news on WorldTempus beginning with this week’s editorial.
Payment by Monthly Instalments
This week, our editorial director, Sophie Furley takes a look at the Maison Lionel Meylan’s new financial offer. In the past, there was only one way to purchase a luxury watch and that was to save up. Now, instead of having to squirrel your cash away for months on end, you can purchase your favourite watch now and pay later. Sophie takes a look at the financial conditions as well as some of the incredible watches you can purchase over 12, 24, 36, or 48 months with 0% interest.
Purple Watches
This week, our correspondent David Chokron shares with us his thoughts on the new trendy horological shade of purple. It is not a colour for everyone, but many several brands have been playing with it with great success. After blue and green, will purple become the “it” colour for 2023, or are there other colours that could possibly take centre stage? As always, only time will tell. Read this interesting article on watch colours, past, present and future.
Panerai’s First Ever Moon Phase
Sophie Furley presents a brand-new timepiece from Panerai in the Luminor Due collection, called the Luminor Due Luna. This new timepiece marks the first time that Panerai has included a moon phase complication in one of its watches, and also the first time there has been a complication in the Luminor Due line. Discover the four different versions – for both men and women – in rose gold and stainless steel in this ShowCase Video that takes a close-up look at the watch.

Faces of Phases

He also takes a look at the latest trends for displaying the moon that have become bigger and more spectacular in recent years. Full Moon information here!
Parmigiani Fleurier
This week, we are kicking off a new video series called “In the Office” where the idea is to meet CEOs at their place of work and discover what their offices look like. Some are in state-of-the-art glass corner offices, while others work in historic buildings, and a few don’t even have an office at all and work in the middle of all their colleagues in an open-plan space. This series also gives us a wonderful opportunity to talk with the movers and shakers of our industry and find out exactly what they are working on. Watch the first episode here with Parmigiani’s Guido Terreni.
Back to School Watches
How do you choose your next back-to-school watch, based on the type of student you are? Well, that’s the challenge that our intern Luna Barbosa de Andrade set herself this week. Luna is currently undertaking a six-month apprenticeship with us during her studies at the Lausanne Hotel School, so she has her eye on all her fellow students’ wrists right now. Discover her choice of five watches that will help students stand out from the crowd in this upcoming university year. They may not help you pass your exams, but at least you will be on time for lectures!
Team Test – Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur
The WorldTempus editorial team was delighted to welcome the mythical Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur into the office this week. It was actually sent to our colleagues at GMT magazine for a feature they are writing, but we managed to steal it for a few days and what fun we had with it! Find out what the team thought about this refined and elegant watch with a mechanical twist in this week’s Team Test; the reviews are fascinating.
GMT XXL World
Talking about our colleagues at GMT (above), discover the latest edition of GMT XXL World magazine featuring the new Calatrava Ref. 5326G Annual Calendar Travel Time from Patek Philippe on the cover. If you haven’t received your copy yet, don’t fear, you can download a digital copy of the magazine on WorldTempus too.
