In 2017, Raymond Weil developed an exclusive inhouse movement produced by the manufacturer Sellita. Paying tribute to the brand’s Swiss origins, Raymond Weil named this movement Calibre RW1212. It is a nod to the postal code of the company’s global headquarters, Grand-Lancy. The movement is a testament to over 40 years of the finest Swiss watch-making traditions and expertise.
Today, the Raymond Weil unveils a new timepiece driven by Calibre RW121. The Freelancer Calibre RW1212 features a 42 mm stainless steel dial framed by a green satin chapter ring with silver indices, Clous de Paris in the centre and a seconds train on the outside. An open aperture at 6 o’clock gives a fascinating view into RW1212 Calibre movement, revealing the oscillating balance wheel, the pulsating hairspring and the vibrating pallet lever.
The insight into the slender two-spoke balance bridge and escape wheel is housed in sapphire crystal with antiglare treatment on both sides of the case, a screwed-down crown with a RW monogram logo and a combination of both satin and polished stainless steel detailing. The 2780-STC-52001 is complemented by matching deep green strap made from synthetic textiles and completed with a Raymond Weil’s stainless steel folding clasp with double push-security system.
The Freelancer Calibre RW1212” comes in several versions, featuring a blue, silver-toned or black dial teamed with a steel case and bracelet, or with a leather strap, as well as in two-tone variations featuring matching bracelets or leather straps.
The green Freelancer Calibre RW1212 is priced at 2,090 CHFTVA incl. and can be ordered online.
