Following the Swiss launch on 14 March of the Tag Heuer connected Modular 45, all first-generation TAG Heuer Connected watches will now be updated to Android Wear 2.0.
This update will be installed automatically via OTA (Over the Air) updates. Android Wear 2.0 will bring substantial improvements to the interface and features directly integrated in the watch. For example, the Play Store will be directly available on the watch (previously it was necessary to use a phone for downloads), and a virtual keyboard now makes it easier to reply to messages.
The update will also specifically allow owners of first-generation TAG Heuer connected watches to benefit from:
- The full range of new digital watch dials (30 watchfaces) featuring renowned TAG Heuer dial designs, some of which are historically inspired, such as the famous panda dial.
Improvements such as Ambient mode to ensure the watch can always be recognised (addition of counters and minute track), the sunray dial decoration, enhanced metal finishes on the indices and hands, the addition of three new designs (Vintage dato 45, Heuer calibre 17 and Heuer 01), and the addition of seven new colours to the existing designs.
- The TAG Heuer Studio (4560 possible combinations) that allows you to create your own dial as if you were a watchmaker or designer.
- Customisation of interactive complications: watch owners can now also choose to display up to three of their favourite apps on the dial using interactive counters: the number of steps taken, the number of calories burned, the time in another geographical zone, the dollar rate, free time before the next meeting... these are just some of the many options depending on your interests.
Automatic installation procedure:
- The watch should be charged overnight, ensuring that it is connected to the phone (or directly by WiFi) and the phone connected to the internet
- Around 3 am, the watch will automatically download the update ? The next morning, a notification will prompt the user to install the update (takes approx 5’)
