Breguet - Grande Complication Réveil Musical

The best of mechanical technology within a classically crafted case. The entire spirit of Breguet is enshrined in this timepiece that strikes on request thanks to a superb patented musical mechanism incorporating a silicon escapement and a Breguet balance-spring. To develop this model with its elegant aesthetic, Breguet particularly focused its efforts on the acoustic quality of the tune played by the alarm, which lasts 20 to 25 seconds. To achieve this effect, watchmakers have notably placed beneath the movement a hand-guilloché metallic membrane that amplifies the frequencies required in emitting the tune.

Why we love it: For the special care Breguet has lavished on each and every detail, starting with the caseband adorned with delicate musical notes. In order to guarantee that the alarm tune will always be played in full, a system prevents the dial from rotating in the event of a low power reserve, thereby preserving the remaining energy for the alarm itself.

Vulcain - 50s Presidents' Watch

This timepiece inspired by a 1950s model revives the legend of the Presidents' watch, the famous model that has made its way through the decades on the wrists of eminent statesmen. This watch has returned to centre-stage in a resolutely Fifties-style interpretation, this time equipped with the Vulcain Cricket V-11 movement driving the hours, minutes, central seconds hand, date display – as well as the characteristic alarm function.

Why we love it: Because anyone would agree that it's always great to be part of a legend, and especially because this model is supremely reliable: in order to deliver the energy required for all its functions, and notably the 20-second alarm, Vuclain has equipped its manually-wound movement with twin barrels.

Glashütte Original - Senator Diary

This is the epitome of a watch that is appreciated as much for its refined aesthetic appeal as for its functionality. The Senator Diary represents a concentrated blend of classicism that is also an extremely original object in that this timepiece enables the user to programme an alarm 30 days ahead. To do so, the desired date is selected on its dedicated subdial at 9 o'clock, and the alarm time in the corresponding aperture at 6 o'clock

Why we love it: For the extremely practical nature of its alarm that can be programmed 30 days in advance – a highly appreciable feature if a far-off appointment is particularly important to you… And above all because of its very simple adjustment.
