References 1142, grenage dials - Urban Jürgensen
Urban Jürgensen presents two new versions of the Reference 1142 featuring handmade grenage dials.

Developed by Abraham-Louis Breguet, graining (or “grenage” in French) consists in making a rough surface by the use of a metal brush and the application of acids. Urban Jürgensen still uses this rare technique, but has replaced the acids by an electrochemical reaction which gives the dial a beautiful frosted effect, making each piece unique.

The two new References 1142 are available with a choice of rose gold or platinum case, measuring 42mm in diameter. Water-resistant to 30 m, the case has a domed sapphire crystal and a flat sapphire caseback. The solid silver dial is decorated by hand using the technique of grenage; it is also hand lacquered and engraved. The hands, which run on classical Roman numerals,  are made in thermally blued steel and rose gold or platinum.

The hand-wound Urban Jürgensen P4 movement beats at 21'600 v/h (3 Hz) and offers a 72-hour power reserve. Displaying the hours, minutes and a small second at 6 o'clock, it includes twin barrels and a Swiss Lever Escapement.
The two new References 1142 are fitted with a semi-matt brown or black alligator leather strap.
