In a week dominated by the 175th anniversary models launched by Patek Philippe, Bell & Ross went hypersonic. Next stop: Mexico.
“La nouvelle BR-X1 de Bell & Ross a créé un bang sonique qui pourrait bien faire sursauter quelques marques.”

Paul O'Neil

As predicted, Patek Philippe enraptured watchmaking fans at the start of last week with its 175th anniversary celebrations. High-tech projection mapping in a temporary structure erected especially for the party at the brand’s headquarters in Plan-les-Ouates had guests cheering with delight. Having already presented a first look at the star model in a whole series of new timepieces, David Chokron today reviews the Grandmaster Chime in more detail. We will also examine the numerous other new watches presented by the brand last Monday in the coming days.

But Patek Philippe was not the only one to stun the industry with a new launch last week. In Paris, Bell & Ross presented a “hypersonic” chronograph whose sonic boom will undoubtedly reverberate in Switzerland, as the brand sets its sights high. WorldTempus visited Bell & Ross HQ to quiz CEO Carlos Rosillo about this ambitious new strategy.

As you read these lines, your editor-in-chief is already set up in Mexico, preparing for the Salon Internacional de Alta Relojeria, a major regional watch fair that starts tomorrow, where he will be reporting on the latest trends in this market. So if you are visiting the show in Mexico, be sure to say a quick “¡hola!”.
