In 1948, Vacheron Constantin created a prize rewarding the author of a work that is particularly worthy of recognition in the fields of astronomy, physical science or mathematics, in order to encourage young students from the Faculty of Science at Geneva University to further their studies and to commit undertake scientific research.
In 2015, the Vacheron Constantin Award has been attributed to Dr Céline Tchernin for her doctoral thesis in astronomy and astrophysics, entitled “Multi-messenger signatures of high energy sources”. In this remarkable work, she models the interactions of cosmic rays through the use of analytical and digital methodologies in order to interpret gamma and neutrino signals from our galaxy.
The prize-giving party took place on Wednesday June 10th 2015 at the Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates. Geoffroy Lefebvre, Chief Operating Officer, Vacheron Constantin presented the laureate with a Traditionelle small model watch.
