Alpina La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc
As official timekeeper of this “snow marathon”, Alpina offered to the winner Rémy Coste the number one AlpinerX watch in the colours of the competition, limited to 25 pieces in the world.
Author of an impressive track record, Rémy Coste was the first one to cross the finish line at Bonneval-sur-Arc. Originally from Megève, this ex baker converted to mushing in 2008 becomes champion of la Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc for the third time (2016, 2018, 2019) and equals the record set by Czech musher Radek Havrda, also triple winner (2007, 2009, 2012) of the competition.
As official timekeeper of la Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc 2019, Alpina offered to the winner Rémy Coste the number one AlpinerX watch, launched in a limited series of 25 pieces in the world. Yohan Bizy, Alpina France Managing director, presented him with this watch featuring an exclusive combination of colours, evoking the views of the icy massifs, and presented in a wooden box engraved with “La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc 15th Edition” plaque. A great tribute to these 12-days competition where 55 mushers coming from all over the world challenged themselves from January 12th to 23rd on a 700km path in the massifs of the French Alps.
This “snow marathon”, involving commitment, technical skills, perseverance and respect for nature, evokes the alpinist values of the watch brand. Athletic in its 45 mm diameter, the blue fiber glass case (for lightweight comfort), with its engraved steel case back, reveals a classic analogue dial, encircled by a blue 360° rotating compass bezel. Protected by a sapphire crystal, the grey face is paired with luminescent white indexes. While indicating the hours and minutes, the turquoise hands (also luminescent) can spread apart onto the upper portion of the dial, if necessary, to reveal the information that appears when the digital screen is activated.
Water resistant to 100 metres and shock resistant, this sporty watchmaking masterpiece is finished with a dark blue rubber strap, for the consummation of its adventurous spirit.
Established in 1883, Alpina is recongised as the inventor of the sports watch as we know it today, having presented its Alpina 4 model back in 1938.Find out more >
