The countdown has begun! The opening match of the FIFA World Cup in Russia between the host country and Saudi Arabia will be held in just 10 days. The most successful national soccer teams from around the globe will battle it out from June 14th to July 15th to be crowned world champions and the Swiss team will also be there. The partnership between Carl F. Bucherer and the Swiss Football Association (SFA) has existed since 2016 and is set to enjoy a new highlight with the upcoming soccer milestone.
As official timekeeper of the Swiss national soccer team, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer from Lucerne presented to each player in person a striking Manero Flyback in rose gold with a black dial and black strap during the final training camp in Lugano prior to the team flying to Russia. The presentation of this timepiece selected by the squad itself took place in the presence of Renato Bonina, Executive Vice President Sales Europe at Carl F. Bucherer, and Claudio Sulser, Delegate of the Swiss national team. As part of the ceremony, the players also signed an atmospheric picture of the watch. The signed complete work of art will be auctioned off as part of the Golf Trophy Engelberg charity golf tournament, with the proceeds going toward youth development at FC Luzern.
