Japan Cup in association with Longines

Kitasan Black and Yutaka Take winner of the spotlight at 2016 Japan Cup in association with Longines.

The 36th edition of the Japan Cup in association with Longines was won by Yutaka Take on Japan’s Kitasan Black. The winning horse’s owner, trainer and jockey were awarded an elegant Longines watch from the Swiss watchmaker, which was the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of Japan’s richest race.

During the race day, Longines celebrated elegance along with sports performances, and thus Longines Ambassador of Elegance Simon Baker awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance to the most elegant woman and man at Tokyo Racecourse. Before heading to Fuchu, the Australian actor visited the first mono brand boutique in Japan, which Longines opened in December 2015 in the Nicolas G. Hayek Center, situated in the heart of the iconic shopping district of Ginza in Tokyo. Since the Swiss watchmaker became involved in the Japan Cup in association with Longines, Longines Ambassadors of Elegance Chi Ling Lin, famous Asian top model, TV presenter and actress, and Andre Agassi, one of the greatest tennis player ever, could show up at Tokyo Racecourse.

The Japan Cup in association with Longines was the perfect occasion to discover the Official Watch, which was The Longines Master Collection. Three centuries of watchmaking expertise stand behind this collection. Its timepieces are notable as much for their intrinsic quality as for their style made up of balanced designs. The Longines Master Collection watch features a refined silvered dial with a chronograph and moonphase display, as well as a stainless steel case with a transparent case back that reveals a self-winding mechanical movement.
