Pablo Mac Donough’s team La Dolfina wins the most prestigious polo tournament.

The final of the Triple Crown was played last 7th of December in Palermo. This highly prestigious polo tournament reunites every year the best teams from the Argentinean championship.

Pablo Mac Donough’s team La Dolfina, competed against its usual opponent Ellerstina in a spectacular finale. Pablo and his team clinched the win after a tough match with a final score of 14-12 at the 8th chukka.

This 121st edition of the Argentinean Polo Open once again demonstrated the strength of La Dolfina on gaining their 6th victory at this tournament since 2005. This however represents more than a victory in obtaining records with the most consecutive games won at twenty two in the history of the Triple Crown and La Dolfina being only the 2nd team ever to win two years in a row since Coronel Suarez some forty years ago.

Richard Mille decided in 2011 to enter this most extreme of sports combining physical performance and endurance. It was therefore possible to address the technical challenges faced by testing innovating solutions in the world of Haute Horlogerie. With the assistance of Pablo Mac Donough as partner, Richard Mille developed the RM 053 Pablo Mac Donough, a totally new case design in titanium carbide inspired by the tonneau shape and engineered to withstand extreme shocks experienced during polo matches.
