Interviews, tests and colour: the week was filled with encounters on WorldTempus

Entering the inner sanctum of watch brands, listening to the movers and shakers of the watchmaking world, experiencing watches: these are the very reasons why WorldTempus exists, and the topics covered in the past week’s editorial programme.

The first to voice his views was Peter Speake-Marin, the watchmaker-founder of the brand bearing his name. With all of his usual frankness, the Englishman explains how his business is developing and maturing, especially in preparing his first ladies’ watch.

And then it was over to Slyde – whose touch screen watch was subjected to a week-long wearer test. How does the virtual hybridisation between mechanical and digital watchmaking materialise on someone’s wrist? The answers were at the fingertips of our Chief Editor – Paul O’Neil.

On Wednesday, Marie de Pimodan-Bugnon introduced us to a new chapter in our “summer watches” series. This one was devoted to coloured, feminine models, a scintillating theme bursting with freshness and style.

On Thursday, WorldTempus handed the floor to Guido Terreni, Director of Bulgari Watch Division, to speak. He recalled the strength of Bulgari’s watchmaking history and spoke of its current news and products. In this vein, we are proud to announce that this brand has joined the circle of WorldTempus partners. We wish it a warm welcome and will be coming back to this subject very soon.

Friday saw the turn of Ms Viviane De Witt, CEO of the Geneva-based brand, to talk to us about her activity, and in particular to tell us about her clients. If you are wondering what exactly a “holiday customer” might be, she provided an explanation as well as many other details.

Next week, we will be focusing on white in general and on the dial in particular, in addition to the approach to vintage watches adopted by Vacheron Constantin, as well as after-sales service. But above all, we will begin a lengthy series of presentations of the watches competing in the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.
