Reuge A Reuge flagship store opens in China
Reuge music boxes are coming in Shanghai. A great selection is from now on to be seen over 300 m2 at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
Designed by the French architect Paul Andreu, the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, located in Pudong New Area in Shanghai, is an iconic cultural landmark. The visitors will not only see world-class performances, but also admire on some 300 m2 the Reuge flagship store for China. From traditional Swiss Music boxes to treasures of the Art of Mechanical Music up to unedited, unique Design pieces – the selection among some 600 pieces is staggering. Dedicated sales associates, or rather passionate lovers of these pieces of Art, explain with pleasure and patience the variety of the world of mechanical music and singing birds.
On the first floor the visitors will find “The Shanghai Gallery of Antique Music Box and Mechanical Works”, the only museum showing antique music boxes in China. More than 100 pieces of Art are exhibited: Cylinder Music Box, Disk Music Box, Automata, Street Organ, Singing Bird and Gramophone. The most attractive music box showing in this museum open for the public is the Grand Ballet, made by Reuge in 1993.
A strong commitment to the growing Chinese market. A market where sophisticated and designed gifts are still very strong in demand. As Kurt Kupper, CEO of Reuge, said during his last visit in Shanghai: “it is to observe that the demanding client of today is asking more and more for bespoke pieces – expressing the DNA of the client and integrating the emotions of the event. True luxury – discreet and elegant.”
