Denis Shapovalov becomes Friend of the Brand

The TAG Heuer Family welcomes the Canadian rising tennis star who, after only two seasons on the ATP World Tour, has already made it into the top 50.

The young Canadian, who defeated Rafael Nadal at the 2017 Montreal Masters, signed a partnership with Tag Heuer, joining other athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Henrik Lundqvist, Tim Howards and many more.

With a current ATP ranking of 49, the young Canadian, the future is looking bright for the young Canadian born in Tel Aviv to parents of Russian descent. At just 18 years of age, Denis Shapovalov has already amassed enough successes to secure his place in the history of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP): he is the youngest player to make it into the ATP top 50 since Rafael Nadal in 2004 and the youngest ever to make it to a semi-final of a tournament in the Masters 1000 series. This is in addition to also being the youngest player since Michael Chang to have reached the last sixteen in the US Open.

TAG Heuer took the opportunity to welcome the athlete to its manufacture when he visited Switzerland for the Swiss Indoors in Basel. Denis Shapovalov was accompanied on a tour of the Swiss watch brand's premises, taking in the museum and various workshops, and the athlete even tried his hand at a bit of watchmaking!
