The BALL for BMW Chronograph is the latest model of BALL Watch's collection inspired by the automotive industry.
The BALL for BMW Chronograph was designed by the well-known Swiss designer Magali Métrailler who managed to create an elegant design that will delight automobile lovers. To add a sporty touch to the timepiece, BALL Watch developped a version with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated case. Beyond the modern look of the DLC, the coating enables better resistance and hardness of the case.
With its 44mm diameter, the Chronograph is one of the biggest models of the BALL for BMW collection. It is crafted with stainless steel and endowed with sapphire crystal on both sides of the case.
The black dial of the Chronograph is bedecked with a grille-type motif and the different shades of black as well as the orange Inka, typical of BMW, resembling the speed dial of a car.
Swiss micro-tubes of ³H gas have been added on the hour and minute hands and the diamond-cut metal indexes on the dial to ensure perfect legibility in the dark. This technology makes it possible to read in the darkness without any external source of energy and is up to 100 times brighter than conventional luminescent paint.
The BALL for BMW Chronograph is equipped with an automatic caliber ETA 7750 and includes a chronograph function with an accumulated measurement of up to 12 hours for reliable timing.
In addition to hours, minutes, seconds and the day and date display, this timepiece includes a tachymeter. The wearer can measure speed over a given distance. For example, it’s possible to measure a car’s speed by engaging the chronograph while passing a given distance interval marker and stopping the chronograph at the following marker. Given 1 kilometer intervals, the speed of the car can be read on the tachymeter of the watch at the end of each kilometer. This novelty is chronometer certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) which certifies the accuracy and precision of the watch’s caliber.
This chronograph also incorporates the Amortiser®, a revolutionary patented anti-shock system present in each model of the collection. It absorbs lateral impacts and protects the mechanical movement whenever it is being worn.
The BALL for BMW Chronograph is available in three versions: a DLC case with a rubberized leather band and a stainless steel case with either a stainless steel bracelet or a calf strap.
