The eye-catching new Clifton two-tone watches pay tribute to the history of Baume & Mercier. In the early days after its founding, Baume & Mercier offered customers two-tone pocket watches with cases combining silver and gold or polished and guilloché treatments. This fashion of associating gold with a white metal or using satin-finished treatments began on wristwatches in the 1930s and was more durably established in the so-called «Golden Fifties.»
The Clifton two-tone watch 10139 combines a 41mm steel case band with a bezel enhanced by solid 18 K red gold. Water resistant to 50 meters, is fitted with an automatic mechanical caliber that is visible through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It displays a small second and date aperture at 3 o’clock on its sun satin-finished silver-colored dial and is worn on an brown alligator strap.
The Clifton two-tone watch 10140 is the same watch, but equipped with a seven-link bracelet in satin-finished steel and steel enhanced with solid 18 K red gold.
The new two-tone watch collection also includes a 30mm two-tone case model fitted with a two-tone bracelet (ref. 10152).
