Bell & Ross - Diver Blue, Diver Bronze

Bell & Ross Diver Blue, Diver Bronze

The square diving watch from Bell & Ross becomes a collection in its own right and welcomes two new models presented at Baselworld 2018.

When it presented its first square diving watch in 2017, Bell & Ross confirmed its ability to produce professional underwater instruments. Following on from the Hydromax designed in 1997 and water-resistant to 11,100 meters, and the BR02 range launched in 2007, the BR03-92 Diver made a strong impression on the diving world with its iconic lines. This watch was the starting point of an entire collection, which is now expanding to include two new versions, the BR03-92 Diver Blue and the BR03-92 Diver Bronze.

BR03-92 Diver Blue

Symbolizing the sea, blue was chosen as the color of this new version of the BR03-92 Diver. Beyond its blue dial, rubber strap and aluminum insert on the bezel, this BR03-92 Diver Blue version aims to achieve maximum legibility with indices coated in White SuperLuminova® and a yellow hour hand.

Underwater, the colors vanish one after the other due to the loss of light intensity. The yellow hour hand will therefore fade away to give precedence to the minute hand, which must be visible to ensure the diver’s safety. This new color combination, paired with the emblematic square shape of the BR collections, gives the BR03-92 Diver Blue a sporty yet attractive aesthetic.

BR03-92 Diver Bronze

The second new addition to the BR03-92 Diver collection evokes the historical roots of underwater exploration. Its case and bezel are made from bronze, a material used in the past for diving helmets. Although inalterable, bronze can also form a patina with time depending on its environment, gaining a unique shade over the years.

This allusion to the origins of underwater adventures can be seen on the case-back thanks to an engraving of a diver. The aged leather strap confirms the watch’s authentic vintage spirit, but can be replaced with a rubber strap for use while diving. Boasting exceptional technical and aesthetic qualities, this model is issued as a limited edition of 999 pieces.

Professional diving instruments

Given their military associations, Bell & Ross watches have always met the strictest requirements. Dedicated to aeronautics, the navy or special units such as GIGN (special operations unit of the French National Gendarmerie), RAID (Search, Assistance, Intervention, Deterrence Unit of the French National Police Force) and bomb disposal experts, every Bell & Ross watch is designed in accordance with its own, often extreme, environment.

In the diving world, the BR03-92 Diver Blue and BR03-92 Diver Bronze have been developed to be measurement tools perfectly capable of contending with the ocean depths. Legible, accurate and reliable, they are efficient companions to divers under any conditions and meet the specific requirements of underwater use, in addition to their Bell & Ross design.

The ISO 6425 Standard

Official regulations set out very precise criteria defining a true diving watch. The ISO 6425 standard lists a great number of obligatory technical parameters, which include water-resistance to a minimum depth of 100 meters; the presence of a unidirectional rotating bezel with a graduated scale, an operation indicator and luminescent markers; legibility in the dark, and anti-shock and anti-magnetic protection. The new BR03-92 Diver Blue and BR03-92 Diver Bronze completely meet these requirements, and go even further than the requisite minimums, featuring a waterresistance of 300 meters.

The brand

For Bell & Ross, each detail has a specific meaning and function: functionality is key, and minimalism – dispensing with superfluous ornamental details in favour of essential aspects – is vital.
