First introduced in 2016, Monsieur de Chanel is a watch with instantaneous jumping hour and retrograde minutes. The timepiece houses the very first in-house haute horlogerie movement signed by Chanel, the Calibre 1.
Designed in Paris and manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Monsieur watch comes in an elegant and minimalist round case measuring 40 mm in diameter, with the jumping hour at 6 o’clock, and the large 240° minute counter integrating a small seconds. Since its launch, it has been available with a beige gold, white gold or platinum case, combined with an ivory-coloured dial or blue or black Grand Feu enamel dial.
Chanel will unveil at Baselworld 2019 a new intense black version of the Monsieur de Chanel watch. Its matte black highly resistant ceramic case is associated with a matte black dial and an alligator strap of the same colour with steel folding buckle.
This 55-piece limited edition remains 100% faithful to the aesthetics of its elders and is driven by the same manual-winding mechanical movement Caliber 1, whose three-day power reserve is provided by two series-mounted barrels.
