La Grande Classique de Longines - Longines
The emblematic Longines fine watch is being expanded in 2020 to make room for new models which, despite their singularity, preserve the classic spirit of this timeless collection.

Launched in 1992, the collection La Grande Classique de Longines helped to forge the reputation of the brand with the winged hourglass. A symbol of Longines' classic elegance and timeless refinement, this collection is characterized both by its very slim profile, which enhances the traditional character, and by the finesse made possible by the unique construction technique of its case.

Drawing its inspiration from the Agassiz collection of 1982 and its solid gold models, the brand decided to highlight a new collection with singular shapes and elegance, inviting watch lovers to immerse themselves in a universe marked by the sobriety and finesse that would later become the emblems of this traditional La Grande Classique de Longines collection.

The new editions of this collection fall into two categories. On the one hand, brand enthusiasts will be able to enjoy timepieces powered by a quartz movement; a movement that marked the beginning of La Grande Classique de Longines collection. This movement runs inside the two L4.209 models (above) with black dials and a 24 mm diameter case, housing the L209 calibre. In addition to these timepieces, there are four quartz versions L4.512, L4.709, L4.755 and L4.766 housing the L420 calibre.

On the other hand, the collection also launches some models driven by a self-winding mechanical movement integrated with the L591 caliber rotating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Among these timepieces belonging to the series of automatic movements, there is the L4.908 model (below) embracing a 36 mm case with a power reserve going up to 40 hours and whose L591 movement runs at 28,000 vibrations per hour.

These timepieces, with their round stainless steel case and red PVD coating, have a common function of displaying hours and minutes and are distinguished by their diameter available in 24 mm (L4.209) for the thinner case and in 37 mm for the larger model L4.766. With a water-resistance up to 30 meters, these watches fascinate with their minimalist dial, which enhances the classic and discreet signature of the collection.

Available in black, blue with diamond-setting or brown, also set with 12 diamonds, these various dials are enhanced by straps in a variety of materials ensuring comfort for every type of wrist. Accessible in black or blue leather, depending on the dial’s colour, or in stainless steel (with and without red PVD coating) with triple safety folding clasp and opening mechanism operated by pushers, these models have everything to seduce.
