Building on its relationship with Mahindra Racing, Maurice Lacroix, the racing team’s Official Timekeeper, unveils three new versions of its Aikon mode

Each of these chronographs is adorned with the racing team’s livery, encompasses urban design and delivers high perceived value.

Recently, Maurice Lacroix announced that it had been selected as the Official Timekeeper of Mahindra Racing. A founding team of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the world’s first all-electric street racing series, Mahindra Racing is no stranger to success. Indeed, over the six seasons it has been competing in the championship, it has enjoyed four wins and stood on the podium 18 times, a highly impressive record which surpasses the results of some big-budget teams.

Maurice Lacroix spends much time in various cities around the globe, finding inspiration for new models and spending time with customers and retailers. This urban mindset is something the Swiss Manufacture shares with Mahindra Racing as it travels the globe, racing through city streets. Drivers and teams embrace each host city, eager to learn every subtle nuance of a track, hoping to discover a potential advantage. Similar to Maurice Lacroix, Mahindra Racing immerses itself in city life. The parallels between both companies are clear to see.

A good start

For the first time on an AIKON quartz model, the dial of the AIKON Chronograph Quartz Special Edition Mahindra Racing is endowed with the company’s high-end square dial pattern. The watch is housed in a 44mm titanium case and features a white sunray dial equipped with three counters. A small seconds display is positioned at 6 o’clock, while a 1/10th of a register is located at 12. Both of these counters are presented in blue. A 30-minute chronograph register is positioned at 9 o’clock, depicted in red. The dial is framed with a grey minute track, aiding readability. The blue, red and grey tones reference the colours of the Mahindra Racing Formula E car. The model is presented on a colour coordinated race-themed strap and the caseback is engraved with the racing team’s livery. This chronograph is the perfect tool for pit-lane dwellers.

Now is the time to clip the Apexes

Presented in a 44mm steel case, the AIKON Automatic Chronograph Special Edition Mahindra Racing features a white sunray dial, with contrasting grey counters, encompassing a square pattern, polished rings and snailed counters. The dial features three counters, two in blue, a 12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at noon, as well as a small seconds display presented in red at 9 o’clock. Upholding fine-watchmaking practise, the automatic movement has been embellished with perlage on various parts of the movement and vertical Côtes de Genève on the bridges and rotor. The automatic ML112 movement can be viewed via the exhibition caseback. The watch is presented on a blue perforated calfskin strap, enlivened with contrasting red stitching.

Born to win

The ultimate ownership proposition, worthy of a team principal’s wrist, is the AIKON Chronograph Skeleton Automatic Special Edition Mahindra Racing.
