Launched in 2004, the Aquanaut Luce was highly successful with its bezel illuminated by the fire of 46 diamonds; the name Luce (light in Italian) was an apt choice. It is available in various versions – in stainless steel or gold – and in lavish Haute Joaillerie livery. The new Ref. 5067A-025 Aquanaut Luce “Misty Blue” complements the three other Ref. 5067 stainless steel models (Mysterious Black, Safari Brown, Glitter White) in the current collection.
Following up the variations with dials and straps in pearly white, black, or taupe, Patek Philippe is adding a new blue-gray color as a further choice for the Ref. 5067 Aquanaut Luce in stainless steel – an unexpected nuance that underscores the modern, youthful design of the watch. Thanks to its Aquanaut-style embossing, the dial reflects casually sporty looks. The refined face is accentuated with applied numerals, applied hour markers, and broad baton-style hands – all in gold. The date is displayed in an aperture at 3 o’clock.
The gently rounded octagonal case is inspired by the design of the Nautilus; it is exquisitely polished and has satin-finished flank surfaces. With its screw-down crown, the watch is water resistant to 120 m. Its quartz movement is crafted with the same expertise as the manufacture’s mechanical movements. The diamonds – immaculately cut flawless Top Wesselton grade – comply with the directives of the Patek Philippe Seal and are set to the most exacting jewelers’ standards.
Made of a blue-gray composite material, the strap is eminently comfortable, highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, and insensitive to saltwater exposure and UV radiation. It features the same chessboard- style relief as the embossed dial and is fitted with a reliable fold-over clasp.
