Chronograph Perpetual Calendar - Patek Philippe
This year, Patek Philippe reinterprets this model twice: once in platinum and the second in rose-gold and metal "Goutte" bracelet.

Reinterpreted in platinum

The Ref. 5270 Chronograph with a perpetual calendar continues a grand Patek Philippe tradition that began in 1941. It was launched in white gold in 2011, followed by a rose-gold version in 2015. Now, the manufacture pays special tribute to the technical finesse of this grand complication, introducing it in precious platinum for the first time.

The golden opaline dial with applied blackened gold numerals melds a subtle vintage style with superb legibility.

Chronographe Quantième Perpétuel

The caliber CH 29-535 PS Q movement, the very first chronograph with a perpetual calendar developed completely in the manufacture’s workshops, stands out with its classic architecture (horizontal clutch, column wheel, manual winding), the six patented chronograph innovations, as well as its extremely svelte calendar mechanism (182 parts with a height of 1.65 mm).

The timepiece is worn on a hand-stitched shiny chocolate brown alligator strap with square scales and a platinum fold-over clasp. It supersedes the predecessor model in rose gold with an alligator strap.

The metal "Goutte" bracelet in a rose-gold version

In the men’s collection the rose-gold Ref. 5270 chronograph with a perpetual calendar has been paired with a brown alligator strap since 2015. Now, it comes with the exclusive “Goutte” bracelet in gold that literally blends with the case. Consisting of five rows of droplet-shaped links, the bracelet is secured with a fold-over clasp and hugs the wrist with inimitable suppleness. Its elegance is the result of painstaking polishing processes that can only be executed by hand. An interesting detail: the correctors for the perpetual calendar displays are accessible via discreet notches integrated in the case-side links of the bracelet.

Chronographe Quantième Perpétuel

The silvery opaline dial was replaced with an ebony black sunburst face that enhances the contrast of the leaf-shaped hands and the applied rose-gold hour markers.

Chronographe Quantième Perpétuel

The addition of a perpetual calendar to the basic manually wound CH 29-535 PS chronograph movement – the first classic, totally manufacture-made Patek Philippe chronograph – called for the development of an extraordinarily thin calendar mechanism (182 individual parts with a height of 1.65 mm). The architecture and finissage of this manually wound movement with a column wheel and a horizontal clutch can be admired through the sapphire-crystal case back. The watch is delivered with an interchangeable solid back in rose gold.

The new Ref. 5270/1R-001 with a bracelet in gold replaces the rose-gold predecessor model worn on an alligator strap.
